Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is one of the largest airports in the United States. The airport is noted for its easy terminal access, minimal number of flight delays and lack of congestion. The airport is approximately 20-25 minutes from downtown Kansas City and 20 miles to the hotel. The airport is served by most major airlines. Ground Transportation
|
Shuttle Service: There are various bus services to and from the airport and downtown Kansas City. From the terminal, follow signs directing you toward ground transportation. Reservations are not required in advance. The largest shuttle company providing non-stop service to and from the Marriott Kansas City Downtown and the airport is KCI Shuttle. The ride to the hotel takes about 25 minutes and costs $16 one way and $27 round trip.

Taxi Service: Cabs are not always immediately available at this airport. There are various taxi service telephones located throughout the baggage claim area and outside terminal exits. To call a taxi, pick up the phone and let them know that you need a taxi to the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. It should take about 25 minutes and cost about $35-$40. Driving Directions
|
From MCI Airport take I-29 South to Broadway/Highway 16 exit. Take Broadway to 12th Street. Turn Left on 12th Street, go 1 block east and the hotel is on the left.

Both self parking and valet parking are available at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. For self parking, pull into the main entrance to the hotel and you'll see a sign just past the doors on the right hand side. If you prefer valet, the valet stand is right outside the main door to the hotel.

Public Transportation
|
There is an extensive metro bus system throughout Kansas City. The fare for most routes is $1.25 (exact change needed). The Metro Bus operates at Kansas City International Airport Monday through Friday. The Metro Bus stands are located outside the terminals. |
Kansas City's Country Club Plaza is a 15 block district with over 150 shops and dozens of restaurants. The Country Club Plaza has shops including men's and women's apparel and accessories and gifts, as well as specialty stores, jewelry, home, art, and antique stores. How to get there:
By Bus: Take the MAX bus from the Convention Center stop (near the hotel) to the Plaza stop. It will cost $1.25 and take between 15 and 20 minutes. The bus runs every 15 minutes until 7 p.m., when it changes to every half hour. For complete routes and schedules view their website at www.kcata.org.
By Taxi: Taxis line up to the left of the main entrance of the hotel on Wyandote Road. A taxi ride to the Country Club Plaza will take about 15 minutes and should cost between $10 and $15.
