This meeting is being convened to engage rural health care providers and
HIT vendors interested in serving rural healthcare providers. In particular,
the conference is designed to:
- Help rural providers in the early stages of IT adoption learn about
the benefits of using health information technology toward quality improvement.
- Provide an opportunity for rural providers and HIT vendors to learn
from each other.
- Create an exhibition area for vendors to showcase their technology
and resources.
- Give participants an understanding of:
- The basic components of HIT
- The initial steps of strategic planning for HIT investments
- How to find appropriate technology to meet individual quality
aims
- Best practices and lessons learned from the rural health care
field
Vendor registration will entitle the organization to:
- One complimentary program registration.
- Listing in the program materials and on the promotional web site
as a participating exhibitor.
- Recognition as a sponsoring organization during the exhibitor reception.
- Participate in sessions designed to provide opportunities for interaction
between vendors and rural providers.

Vendor fees are $500 per table.
This fee includes one non-provider participant attendee fee, as
well as one 8’ x 30" table and appropriate draping, 2 chairs,
and a trash can. Each table will have extension cords and a power
strip to provide access to electricity. Internet access will also
be available at no extra charge.
Additional Vendor Representatives – Additional vendor
representatives wishing to participate in the meeting will need to
pay the $175 non-provider attendee fee.

The exhibitor reception will give vendors approximately four hours of targeted
marketing time to showcase their products. Attendees will gather in the
exhibition area for a reception and networking time with vendors at 4:00
P.M. on Friday, September 22, 2006.

* Please note that the exhibit space will be in the foyer outside of
the main ballroom and cannot be locked overnight. McKing, the Kansas City
Marriott Hotel, or the Office of Rural Health Policy will not be held responsible
for missing, lost or stolen items.
